This song is one of the greatest hits ever created by Depeche Mode and the live versions of this song are played since 1989. The guitar riff is unique, the drums are rhythmical, the lyrics and the chords give you a real Depeche Mode mood. To make a piano cover for this kind of DM songs is very challenging. The dynamics, instrumentation and the vocals are so perfect and so powerful, that the song played with other instrument can only be worse from the original. Even so I decided to make a piano cover of this all time classic Depeche Mode song. I tried to keep the rhythm and the essence of the song as real as I can. There were no re-chord experiments, no own creative parts, except one little adjustment. I decided to slightly slow down the BPM to adapt the piano sounding into this rhythmical dynamic song. The bridge in the middle of this song is based on the live performance from ‘’One Night In Paris’’. Through the song I have used Big Octave Strings to reach a little bit of balladic feelings. This piano version is easy to learn and easy to play. Now I want to share with you guys this masterpiece from the genius Martin Gore.
